Tim Duncan, tdunk48@gmail.com Direct # 336-546-6515 is your lead instructor for this class!

After registering, if you are unable to attend, please call or text so I will know you are not coming. You may reschedule at no charge. Your deposit is good for 1 year.

You will need to bring a handgun along with 30 rounds. I do have a .22 which you may rent for $10 extra. It includes ammo.

Morning:

  • Class time is 8am-6:00pm. If you can get there at 7:45 to start paperwork, that will be great.  We want to start as close to 8am as possible.

  • ADDRESS: The class is held at 4221 Kernersville Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27107.  Some GPS might show the address as 4221 Kernersville, NC 27284  Note: This is a church address.

  • If you paid a deposit, your remaining balance is $35 each or $85 each if you have not paid a deposit. Please try and bring the exact amount if you can (we can't make change for $50 or $100 dollar bills).

  • Sorry, no checks please. Credit cards(+3% fee) or good old cash is accepted.

  • Please bring your Driver's license or state/Military ID.

  • NO AMMUNITION in the classroom. You may bring your gun in the classroom (let us check in upon your arrival) but no ammunition and it must stay in the case until the instructor examines it first.

  • You can pre-load your magazines, but leave them in your vehicle.

  • During the morning session we will cover firearms safety, learn about handguns in general and also learn marksmanship fundamentals.

 Noon/half way:

  • Normally around 12:15, we will go shoot. The range is 20 minutes away.  You can carpool if needed.

  • Please bring at least 30 rounds of ammo for your handgun.  The shooting portion is 10 rounds at 3 yards, 10 rounds at 5 yards, and 10 rounds at 7 yards. You will have to hit 70% on the target to qualify.  That is 21 out of 30 on the target. (not necessarily in the bullseye). Accuracy is not as important as safety.

  • Please bring your eye/ear protection.  We will have a few extra but maybe not enough for everyone.

  • LADIES - for your protection while outside shooting, please no low cut shirts or high heels.

  • Magazines can be loaded but do not have your gun loaded until you are on the firing line. (It is recommended to have two or three magazines that can hold 30 rounds. If you only have one, that's ok. You will just have to reload).

  • If you are using a revolver, do not close the cylinder until you are on the firing line.  No Single Action Revolvers..... Please bring speed loaders (if applicable) for all double-action revolvers.

Last half of day: after a lunch break,

  • The last half of the class will focus on the legal part of the course.

  • There is a 20 questions written test and shooting qualifications that you must past in order to get your certificate. You must pass with an 80% passing grade.  You can miss 4 out of 20.

  • When you graduate (We have confidence you will all pass), you will receive a signed certificate.  These typically do not expire  but don't wait years before you apply. Every county determines how long they will honor the certificate. Some 1 or 2 years.

  • Do NOT lose your certificate!  $10 replacement fee.

  • As soon as you get your certificate, schedule your appointment with the Sheriff's department.  Don't Delay!
